OSWEGO, NY – Oswego Mayor Tom Gillen recently proclaimed March 2 as “Read Across America Day.”
It is only fitting that March 2 is also the birthday of Dr. Seuss.
There will be events throughout the Oswego City School District celebrating the day.
Recently, Mayor Gillen read “The Lorax” to Hope Mazuroski’s first grade class at the Kingsford Park Elementary School.
Students all dressed in orange (the color of the Lorax).
Joining the event were OCSD Director of Literacy Laura Ryder and the “Cat in the Hat” (Laura Taverni an AmeriCorps worker).
