Mayor Proclaims Aug. 7-8 ‘Fulton Jazz Weekend,’ Fulton Jazz Festival Partners With Tobacco Free Network of CNY

Fulton Mayor Ronald Woodward has proclaimed the Fulton Jazz Festival, (FJF), Aug. 7-8, “Fulton Jazz Weekend, ” said event co-chair, Joe Cortini. In addition, the City of Fulton and the Tobacco Free Network of Central New York (TFNCNY) have partnered with the event to make it a “tobacco free” festival. Joining the mayor for the proclamation are, from left: Michaelanne Smith, Uniforms, Etc. committee member; Jacqueline Thorpe, Tobacco Free community specialist, TFNCNY; Janet Rebeor, FJF co-chair; Woodward; Bill Hubel, FJF co-chair; Joe Cortini, FJF Co-chair; and Barry Ostrander, superintendent, Fulton Parks and Recreation. Syracuse native and jazz trumpeter Joe Magnarelli, with his wife, Akiko Tsuruga “Queen of the Organ,” headline the 2015 Fulton Jazz Fest, which runs 5-11:30 pm on Friday, Aug. 7 and 4:00-11pm Sat., Aug. 8. The event is on the shores of Lake Neahtahwanta, behind the Fulton War Memorial on Route 3 and admission is free. A variety of refreshments will be sold, and beer and wine is available to purchase with valid ID at the Blue Moon Grill stand, as well as Blue Moon’s New Orleans Cajun Cuisine.
