Mayoral Proclamation
St. Patrick’s Day
Ancient Order of Hibernians
Whereas, the Ancient Order of Hibernians in America formed to promote National Unity and Christian Charity in Ireland; and
Whereas, the purpose of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 2 of Oswego County has as its goal to promote the ideals of the people who gave their lives for the cause of Irish Freedom, and to promote the history traditions and language, and
Whereas, an additional purpose of the Ancient Order of Hibernians works in many way to encourage civic participation and to support without prejudice, the concept of free expression of religious practices among all people of the world; and
Whereas, we recognize the large contributions the Irish people have made to achieve freedom of this country, and to the history and culture of the United States.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Ronald L. Woodward, Sr., Mayor of the City of Fulton New York, do hereby proclaim Sunday, March 14, 2010 as a day of remembrance, celebration and appropriate recognition of Saint Patrick, the Patron Saint of the people of Ireland, and I urge our citizens to attend a lively Saint Patrick’s Day Party on this day at the Polish Home, 153 West First Street, Fulton, New York from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
