CENTRAL SQUARE – Students from the Paul V. Moore High School’s Distributive Education Clubs of America chapter recently attended the Region 9 DECA competition and continued to excel in the community.
The results are in and the Central Square School district is pleased to announce that the following students placed in their respective events:
First place was awarded to Tristin Rice for Public Speaking, Robby Howley for Food Services Marketing, Madeline Turo for Hotel and Lodging Management, Brianna Donohoe for Human Resource Management, Erin McCarthy for Restaurant and Food Management, Taylor Wicks for Retail Merchandising and Camryn Lawyea for Principles of Business Administration.
Second place was awarded to Christopher Suchecki for Marketing Management Team Decision Making, Nick Sobotka for Marketing Management Team Decision Making, Cara MacDougal for Buying and Merchandising Team Decision Making, Morgan Landers for Buying and Merchandising Team Decision Making, Jack McGuirk for Food Services Marketing, Kassidy Scaad for Hotel and Lodging Management and Austin Dykeman for Retail Merchandising.
Third Place was awarded to Jordan Concolino for Sales Demonstration, Maegan Dean for Business Services Marketing, Kaitlyn Meigel for Food Services Marketing, Charlie Miller for Sports and Entertainment Marketing and Gianna Giamartino for Principles of Finance.
Fourth place was awarded to Ethan Dolce for Sales Demonstration, Alexander Lotito for Apparel and Accessories Marketing, Alaina Godici for Quick Service Restaurant Management, Stephen Wilcek for Principles of Business Administration and Joseph Hatem for Principles of Finance.
It was also announced that Alexander Lotito was elected vice president of marketing, Erin McCarthy was elected vice president of hospitality, Taylor Wicks was elected vice president of finance and Chris Suchecki was elected vice president of membership for Region 9 DECA.
The next adventure for this talented group will be attending the New York State Career Development Conference in Rochester in March.
Students that qualified at the regional competition will also move on to compete at the state level.
