National Attendance Awareness Month Celebrated in Fulton

FULTON – For the entire month of September, and throughout the 2017-2018 school year, the Fulton City School District will celebrate attendance awareness.

A special kickoff event will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., Sept. 17 at the Fulton Education Center, 167 S. Fourth St., Fulton.

The Fulton City School District has invited all Fulton school families to the event fun, which includes, games, prizes, music and various activities. Community partner agencies will also be on hand to share important resources and tips to help improve attendance.

Students will be asked to sign an attendance pledge, in which they commit to attend school every day, all day.

District officials said they will continue to encourage students to be present and on time because the more students are in school, the more they learn and retain.
