Citing his record of working for us in Central and Northern New York, the New York State Nurses Association has endorsed state Sen. Darrel J. Aubertine for re-election stating that he can “provide important leadership” in his work to improve health care opportunities New York.
“Senator Darrel Aubertine has proven himself to be supportive of issues that are important to nurses and patients alike,” said Deborah Elliott, RN, deputy executive officer of the New York State Nurses Association. “In the time he has spent in the Senate and in the Assembly, he has championed our members’ concerns about working conditions and nurse/patient ratios, which have a strong impact on the quality of patient care in New York. This past session, he also supported the successful ban on mandatory overtime. The Nurses Association looks forward to Darrel’s continued good work as State Senator.”
“In light of the vital role they play in our health care system, I’m extremely pleased to have the support of nurses from across the district,” Darrel said. “The hard work they do every day for the patients they care for ensures that we all are treated well. I’m proud to continue working hard on their behalf for all of us in Central and Northern New York.”
The New York State Nurses Association is the voice for nursing in the Empire State. With more than 36,000 members, it is the state’s largest union and professional association for registered nurses. It supports nurses and nursing practice through education, research, legislative advocacy, and collective bargaining.
