OSWEGO, New York – North Shore Oil Company has joined on as an “Admiral Sponsor” for the Oswego Festival of Sail 2010, according to Festival of Sail Committee Member and Broadwell Properties Partner Shane Broadwell.

The Oswego Festival of Sail, which will be held June 25, 26 and 27 will include tours of the tall ships Pride of Baltimore II, Unicorn, and Lynx, as well as vendors, children’s events, music, and sail aways on the Unicorn and Lynx.

North Shore Oil Company’s $7,500 Admiral Sponsorship is considered the highest sponsor level offered by the Oswego Festival of Sail event, and according to Harry Pratt, the owner of North Shore Oil their support of the June event defines their company’s commitment to the community.

“We are proud to be able to participate in such an inspirational event,” said Pratt. “We are a company that has always believed that our surrounding communities are the heart of our businesses and that we should be giving back.”

Established in 1972, North Shore Oil originally provided home heating oil and kerosene for Oswego County homes.

“As we began our company we built an outstanding reputation for our impeccable service and firm commitment to our customer’s needs,” said Pratt. “Now after almost 40 years, we have established ourselves as a leading energy company, serving customers throughout Central New York and parts of Pennsylvania as a distributor/wholesaler of Sunoco and Valero gas.”

“And, we have remained committed to maintaining our reputation as a family owned business that strives to be the best service organization in the industry,” said Pratt.

North Shore Oil now offers the surrounding communities commercial, residential, agricultural, and marine fuels. North Shore divisions also include two restaurants, which are famous for their home style cooking and warm atmospheres; a full service truck stop that offers all the necessary amenities for today’s truckers; and eight convenience stores (Sun-Up Food Stores), which offer everything from gas to groceries.

“What an absolute boost to this event,” said Broadwell regarding the North Shore Oil sponsorship. “North Shore Oil saw the event as a wonderful opportunity for the families in our communities to gather together.

“And, we’re very appreciative of their commitment and support as an Admiral Sponsor and advocate in this community.”
