OCO, BOCES To Facilitate Training Workshop Tonight

MEXICO, NY – Oswego County Opportunities, in partnership with BOCES’ Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention & Services, will host a special workshop tonight to help educate and train individuals who work with or provide services to parents.

Following months of research and discussion, a committee comprised of parents, youth service workers, members of the faith community, and health care providers worked collaboratively to establish a curriculum that will teach parents an effective way to talk to their children about sex.

Recognizing that parents are the primary sex educators of their children, the curriculum titled, Ready To Talk, respects parents busy schedules, fits our community values and provides the tools and knowledge necessary to help parents feel confident when talking to their children about sex.

The workshop will be held Aug. 3 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Oswego County BOCES campus, room West 450.

The workshop is open to any and all organizations, civic groups or individuals who provide services to parents.
