OCO Launches Short-Term Transportation Assistance

Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) has launched a new initiative to help with the effects of higher gas prices and limited transportation options. OCO’s Short-Term Transportation Assistance program provides eligible community members with one-time transportation relief to help Oswego County residents stay connected to essential services and opportunities. FULTON – Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) is offering one-time, short-term transportation assistance to help individuals during a time when gas prices are high, and transportation can be a challenge.

To break down transportation barriers, OCO is introducing its new Short-Term Transportation Assistance, offering eligible community members one-time, short-term support to help ease the burden of high gas prices and ongoing transportation challenges.

“Based on our most recent Community Needs Assessment, lack of transportation to jobs is one of the top community?level causes and conditions of poverty in Oswego County,” said OCO Executive Director Kevin Dean. “This program is designed to provide short?term relief and help people stay connected to essential services and opportunities.”

 

OCO’s Short-Term Transportation Assistance is available to adults in Oswego County with income at or below 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines and in need of transportation. Assistance is available on a limited basis while funding lasts.

Assistance may include:

–        Gas Cards

–        Bus Passes

–        Other transportation support for essential needs
