FULTON, NY – The United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Annual Campaign received a welcome boost when representatives from Oswego County Opportunities presented the agency with the results of its in-house campaign in support of United Way.

Members of OCO’s campaign committee hosted numerous staff meetings to share information about United Way, raise awareness of the positive effect it has on Oswego County, and help staff gain a clearer perspective of the programs and resources available thanks in part to United Way funding.
“Jo-Lyn Phillips and Stephanie Langdon did a wonderful job coordinating OCO’s employee campaign,” said Lois Luber, resource development director for United Way of Greater Oswego County. “The generous donations from OCO employees will go a long way in helping our member agencies provide valuable human services to those in need in Oswego County.”
Phillips said that OCO added some friendly competition to the campaign by awarding a commemorative trophy to the OCO service area with the highest percentage of giving. The trophy went to OCO’s Corporate Services where it will be held and proudly displayed until the start of the next year’s campaign.
“Once again the employees of OCO have shown concern for their community, and their respect for the efforts of the United Way, as we surpassed our goal by nearly 10 percent,” said Jo-Lyn-Phillips. “We embrace the United Way of Greater Oswego County, as well as the work they do, and look forward to the 2012 / 2013 campaign!”
