OSWEGO, NY – This year, the Oswego City School District had 23 of 30 students who tried out accepted in the Senior High All-County Band, which was the most of any school in our county.

In November, Mr. Jim Peer and 17 middle school students auditioned for the Junior High All-County Band and 12 were accepted.
The OCMEA All-County Band Festival was at Oswego High School in mid January.
The guest conductor for the Junior High Band was Kimberly Sanderson, who received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education from Ithaca College. Sanderson is an instrumental music teacher at Cortland Junior-Senior High School in Cortland, New York.
The conductor for the Senior High Band was Dr. Adam Brennan, who has been director of bands and professor of percussion studies at Mansfield University since 1995. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in music education and a Master of Arts degree in theory and composition, with an emphasis in composition, from Western Illinois University.

He earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in instrumental conducting from the University of Oklahoma where he studied with Dr. William K. Wakefield.
The following students were accepted into the Senior High All-County Band: Justin Abbott, Nina Alcasid, Tyme Baez, Gina Bartholomew, Emilie Benigno, Joe Bertonneau, Krystin Blackburn, Heather Carapetyan, Alexandra DeSacia, Lisette Dufore, Mike Gill, Conor Henrie, Cassandra Hondro, Stephen Hook, Emily King, Emily Kolenda, Adrienn MacDougall, Jeffrey Murray, Emilea Reiner, Grant Richmond, Stephen Richmond, Katherine Schermerhorn and Tory Welsch.
The following students were accepted into the Junior High All-County Band: Ana Alcasid, Mike Allen, Danica Aquitania, Jeremy Braiman, Hannah Cain, Jordan Crapser, Eric Clyne, Ben Hansel Evan James, Ron McKinstry, Justin Semione and Chris VanGorder.
