Oswego Bookmobile Releases the 2024 Summer Schedule

OSWEGO – Rock your summer with Oswego Bookmobile! Summer readers will enjoy a good book when Oswego Bookmobile drives into their neighborhoods this summer.

The 2024 Driving Books Home program begins Monday, July 1, 2024, and will run on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays through August 16.

Mondays: Leighton School, Fort Ontario Pool, East Park

Tuesday: Kingsford Park School, Hamilton Homes, Breitbeck Park, West Park

Wednesday: Fitzhugh Park School, Hill Top Trailer Park, Hillcrest Trailer Park, Scriba Town Park

Weekly Activities will include Coding Key Chains, Ocean Salinity Experiment, Water Color Art Critters, Giant Bubble Wands, Straw Rockets, Straw Pan Flutes, and Shark Puppets.

Special visitors from Pet Partners of CNY, Oswego Fire Department, Oswego Police Department, Menter Ambulance, and more will stop in throughout the summer.

Oswego Bookmobile has a fantastic selection of new, popular books. Children from toddler to 18 may choose a free book, a healthy snack, and make a STEAM craft each week. Literacy specialists help children choose books they can read independently.

Oswego Bookmobile brings its summer literacy program to neighborhoods in partnership with Oswego City School District, Oswego Public Library, and SUNY Oswego. Oswego Bookmobile can offer its literacy program thanks to a group of dedicated volunteers and with funding from many grant-giving organizations, local businesses, corporate donors, and donations from citizens who support literacy in our community.
