OSWEGO, New York – The Oswego County Historical Society’s (OCHS) July fundraiser recently kicked off. The campaign called, “Be Historical. Keep Our History Alive!” is being supported by businesses throughout Oswego County, according to Connie Clancy, campaign committee chairperson for the OCHS Board of Trustees.

OCHS is working with numerous local businesses and merchants in the area for  the “Be Historical” campaign.

Local businesses include: All Seasons Inn, Alliance Bank NA, Best Western Captain’s Quarters, Bosco and Geers, Bridie Manor, Cam’s Pizzeria, Canales’s Restaurant, Cheap Seats, Domino’s Pizza, Econo Lodge Riverfront, Fajita Grill, Oswego County FCU, Pathfinder Bank, Patz Restaurant, Paul’s Big M, The Press Box, Price Chopper, Raby’s ACE Home Center, Ritz Diner, river’s end bookstore, Ruby Tuesday, Rudy’s, GS Steamers, Step One Creative, Subway, Wayne Drugs, and Your House, Your Home.

Participating businesses are helping to “Keep Our History Alive” in Oswego County by requesting donations of $.50 from their patrons to support the Oswego County Historical Society, or through donation cans that are available at checkout areas with their business.

“We invite businesses to be a part of this effort in helping to preserve the history and heritage of Oswego County,” said Peg McKinstry, president of the OCHS Board of Trustees. “Our history is a vital part of who we are as a community, and as our government funding sources have diminished over the years, we have had to pursue new fundraising efforts and partners to keep our history alive.”

The Oswego County Historical Society is located at the Richardson-Bates Museum at 135 East Third Street in Oswego. For more information or to schedule tours at the museum call (315) 343-1342. missing or outdated ad config
