Oswego County Legislature Presents Proclamation to Snowmobilers

OSWEGO – The Oswego County Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee presented a proclamation to members of the Oswego County Snowmobile Association in March, thanking them for their assistance in the recent filming for the nationally-syndicated SnowTrailsTV show.

The Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning worked with WPBS public television of Watertown to bring SnowTrailsTV to the area.

SnowTrailsTV producer Mike Grant and his film crew spent a day in Oswego County, riding more than 100 miles of trails and visiting many of the area’s best-known snowmobiling spots. Oswego County will be featured next year on the nationally-syndicated SnowTRailsTV and on a local series being produced by WPBS.

“Members of the Oswego County Snowmobile Association, led by Bob and Carolyn Prockup of the Kasoag Trailblazers, worked with county staff to plan the event,” said Legislator Fred Beardsley, District 9, chairman of the Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee. “Volunteers spent many hours mapping and timing the route, grooming the trails and coordinating details to make sure that Oswego County was well-represented and that our trails were in excellent condition. Because of their hard work, Oswego County will receive wonderful exposure as a snowmobiling destination when the series airs next year in the U.S. and Canada.”

Local businesses that hosted the crew include Cold Spring Manor Bed and Breakfast and Eddy’s Place in Pulaski, the Redfield Volunteer Fire Department, the Grist Mill Restaurant in Parish, Vanderbilt Snowmobile Club Warming Shack in Constantia, and Buck’s Family Restaurant in Williamstown. Rock’s Sales and Service of Parish, and The Outdoor Toy Store of Pulaski will also be featured in the local production. Oneida and Lewis counties, and the Town of Webb in Herkimer County, also participated in the project.
