OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego County Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee recently presented a proclamation designating October as 4-H Month in Oswego County.
At hand to receive the proclamation were Alena Fresch, 4-H member; Mary Matteson, 4-H program educator; and Paul Forestiere, executive director of Cornell Cooperative Extension.
With the support of the Oswego County Legislature, Cornell Cooperative Extension serves the individual and group educational needs of Oswego County’s rural and urban youth through its 4-H/Youth Development programs.
Oswego County celebrates 91 years of 4-H programs this year with more than 11,000 youths acquiring worthwhile life-skills from the teachings of hundreds of 4-H volunteers from across the county.
Thanks to 4-H programs, generations of men and women have pledged their lives to clearer community thinking, greater community loyalty, larger community service, and better community living in Oswego County.
