OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Lions Club will hold its sixth annual “Cow Chip Bingo” fundraiser Sept. 10 at Cheap Seats Sports Bar & Grille.
New to the event this year will be a co-ed volleyball tournament scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., rain or shine.
The tournament will pit six teams, six players per team, in a round-robin tournament with opportunity to win prizes of $120 for first place and $60 for second place.
The volleyball tournament will assist the Oswego Lions Club supplying eye exams and purchase of eye glasses for community members.
The Cow Chip Bingo portion of the event will run from noon to 3 p.m.
“Deeds” are available for $5 each.
The proceeds from the bingo will used to support an annual scholarship in the memory of Harold “H” and Mary Dowd.
“H” was a member of the Fulton Lions Club who was instrumental in keeping the Oswego Lions Club going when it was on the verge of disbanding in 1996.
The Cow Chip Bingo will take place on a football field size area that will be sectioned off into 520 square yard plots.
“Deeds” are being sold for each square yard plot.
Once “Poopsie” the cow is released onto the field, whoever owns the plot that “Poopsie” fertilizes, walks away with $500.
“Deeds” are available for purchase at Cakes Galore and More, Maida’s Floral Shop.
“Deeds” are also available from any Oswego Lions Club member. Only 520 will be sold.
This fun filled day will also feature live music by Bill Oeinck and 50/50 drawing. Lee Victory, owner of Cheap Seats, will donate 20 percent of all food and beverages sales during the tournament to Oswego Lions Club.

Oswego Lions Club raises money through various fundraisers and distributes this money in the community. The primary mission of the Lions Club is sight and hearing related projects. This includes assisting community residents and school students with eye exams, eyeglasses, and hearing aids. In addition to sight and hearing, the club donates money to many worthy organizations in the community.
