OSWEGO, NY – “You’ve distinguished yourselves from your classmates and other students nationally by rising to the challenges of this society. Be proud of your distinction, be humbled by this acknowledgement and be productive as you strive for excellence and set an example today and throughout your life within the four pillars of the Owls’ Head Chapter,†said Oswego Superintendent of Schools Bill Crist.
Crist was addressing the newest members of the National Honor Society Owl’s Head Chapter in a recent ceremony in the Ralph M. Faust Theatre for the Performing Arts.
Families and friends joined the celebration along with Superintendent Crist, Oswego High School Executive Principal Patricia Oughterson and long time National Honor Society advisor Michael McCrobie.
Also participating in the induction ceremony were Owl’s Head Chapter officers President Libby Morley, Vice-President James Reynolds, Secretary Rachel Clark and Treasurer Sarah Skinner.
Addressing the inductees, Oughterson said, “I will look to you as student leaders in the coming year to assist with important decisions and positive changes that will affect you and your peers in the future.â€
Continuing she said, “As your principal, I am both honored and proud to congratulate you for your induction to the Oswego High School National Honor Society. I would like to thank you in advance for your commitment to excellence.â€
The newest members of the National Honor Society includes Hannah Allen, Ali Al-Salameh, Kaitlyn Armstrong, Michaela Auer, Emily Barlow, Gina Bartholomew, Emilie Benigno, Kyrstin Blackburn, Tayler Bowman, Paul Bradshaw, Michael Carey, Bryan Cary, Cassandra Collins, Ashli Deming, Austin DeMott, Danielle Faivus, Luke Familo, Victoria Frazier, Zachary Gerber, Sarah Gosek, Abigail Haessig, Thomas Handley and Cooper Harse.
Also inducted were Dalton Izyk, Brittany Juravich, Jonathan Kaplewicz, Brittany Kearns, Michaela Kearns, Emily Kolenda, Stephen LiVoti, Daniel Maniccia, Rebecca Martin, Dillon McCauley, Mary Montagnola, Maggie Mooney, Ryan Patrick, John Phillips, Jeremy Purce, Matthew Randall, Caroline Reynolds, Mary Catherine Rice, Aubree Schrader, Eve Simmonds, Josh Sova, Allison Yule and Trenton Yule.
