Oswego Students Shine at SkillsUSA competition

OSWEGO – Three Oswego High School students earned top marks at the recent SkillsUSA regional competition administered through the Center for Technology, Innovation and Instruction and its Career and Technical Education program.

Students Robert Clark, Abigail Roy and Dylan Cohen were recently recognized as among the top performers in their Career and Technical Education specialties at the recent regional SkillsUSA competition. Clark and Roy took third place in the categories of Information Technology Services and Commercial Baking, respectively. Cohen won first place in the Carpenter’s Assistant category.

In the Carpenter’s Assistant category, a first-place finish by Dylan Cohen punched his ticket to the upcoming New York State SkillsUSA Finals, to be held April 25-27 at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.

SkillsUSA empowers its members to become world-class workers, leaders and responsible American citizens.

The program seeks to improve the quality of our nation’s future skilled workforce through the development of framework skills that include personal, workplace and technical skills grounded in academics.

SkillsUSA serves more than 335,000 students and instructors annually.
