The Y now owns the Armory and is using it for many of its programs.

Plans are under way to build a passage between the current Y and the Armory.

There are plans to improve the swimming pool and both structures.

Programs are in operation at the YMCA for all age levels from children and infants to senior citizens.

Two programs Jackie mentioned were Strong Kids and Silver Sneakers.

The Strong Kids is a $30,000 campaign to fund programs that develop healthy living and social responsibility for young people.

Silver Sneakers is an exercise course for senior citizens that help seniors with balance and stretching.

Some of the programs are school age child care, advantage after school, teens on weights, youth centers, child watch, family nights, group exercise classes, personal training, racquetball, basketball and aquatics.
