She will appear Monday, October 19, in the Auburn campus student lounge, and Wednesday, October 21, in room F-150 on the Fulton campus. Both readings are from 11:00 a.m. to noon, with copies of Lockward’s books available for purchase and signing.

Lockward’s work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, included in numerous anthologies, and featured by radio personality Garrison Keillor on NPR’s “Writer’s Almanac.” Her poems have earned major awards and appeared in such journals as Spoon River Poetry Review, Harvard Review and Prairie Schooner.

A former high school teacher, Lockward conducts poetry workshops for writers of all ages and experience levels, as well as for teachers. Her visit to Cayuga is sponsored by the college’s Humanities Division with support from Poets & Writers, Inc., and funding from the New York State Council on the Arts.
