Relay For Life of Parish in September is gearing up for the 2013 event at APW Middle School! We are looking for people who are passionate about the fight against cancer and are interested in joining our planning committee and work with a team to bring a successful and fun event to Parish. The event is in Parish but if you live in an outlining community, we welcome you to be part of the event.

Tracy Kinne of Parish joined the Tompkins County Workers’ Center in Ithaca last week for a teach-in marking the 50th anniversary of Walmart Stores Inc.
She spoke about her memoir, “On Sale: Employers Get Good Workers Dirt Cheap.” She was a newspaper journalist for 21 years before taking a buyout and going to work as a low-wage cashier and sales associate.

Oswego County Opportunities, Inc Services to Aide Families Program (SAF) is Oswego County’s certified domestic violence and rape crisis program. Their mission is to assist and empower victims of physical, sexual and/or emotional violence as well as mobilize a coordinated community-wide response to those issues. Prevention education for at-risk groups, including children, adolescents, and prior victims is stressed. – Meridith Needam
