Quilt Donated To Dollars for Scholars

HANNIBAL – Students in the after-school program at DMK Middle School in Hannibal presented a quilt they made in the program to the Hannibal Chapter of Dollars for Scholars.

Many other students also contributed to the making of the quilt

The quilt is in the Hannibal school colors.

Dollars for Scholars will raffle it in the fall when school resumes.

It will make a great Christmas present.

The after-school program is operated by Oswego County Opportunities.

OCO After-School provides quality programming to students is Hannibal’s DMK Middle School and Fulton Jinior High School.

Students participate in hands-on learning, leadership, community service and STEAM activities.

The quilt was this year’s community service project.

Hannibal Dollars for Scholars is a subsidiary of Scholarship America.

The Hannibal chapter raises money through various fund-raising activities, most notably the annual Ducks over the Dam race in July.

Donations and bequests are also welcome and are tax deductible.

All money raised is used to provide scholarships for graduating seniors from Hannibal High School.

This year, eleven $500 scholarships were awarded.
