Riders Of The Son To Ride For Child Advocacy Center

FULTON, NY – Dr. Marc Haynes, senior pastor of the Fulton Alliance Church, has announced that several members of the church’s riding group, “Riders of the Son,” will be supporting the efforts of the Child Advocacy Center by participating in the agency’s sixth annual Blue Ribbon Ride Against Child Abuse.

An avid biker, Dr. Haynes is looking forward to the event.

“Taking part in the Blue Ribbon Ride Against Child Abuse provides us with a perfect opportunity to give back to our community by supporting the work of the Child Advocacy Center,” said Haynes.

Scheduled for Saturday, the CAC’s Blue Ribbon Ride Against Child Abuse is a charity ride that tours Oswego County exclusively and raises funds to support the efforts of the CAC and help raise awareness of child abuse in Oswego County.

The ride begins and ends at Sweet Inspirations Drive In on Route 3 in Fulton.

Drivers and riders will be able to register the day of the event.

A $30 donation per driver and a $20 donation per passenger are requested.

Riders who obtain $100 or more in donations will ride and dine for free and receive a collectable pin.

As an added incentive for bikers, the CAC will be awarding the individual who collects the most sponsorships with two tickets to the Kenny Chesney concert on Aug. 28 at the New York State Fair.

Following the ride participants and community members will gather at Sweet Inspirations Drive-In on Route 3 in Fulton for an afternoon of fun, a chicken barbecue, and great music with a performance by Paul Taylor starting at 2 p.m.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the CAC’s Blue Ribbon Campaign.

Day of registration will begin at 10 a.m. with the ride beginning at noon.

Chicken barbecue dinners will be available for purchase by the public beginning at noon as well.

The CAC is a non-profit organization that works hand-in-hand with local law enforcement, prosecution, child protective services, medical providers, therapy providers, and victim advocacy professionals in Oswego County to protect and serve over 150 child victims of sexual and physical abuse each year.

“We admire the work that executive director, Olivia VanSanford and her staff do at the Child Advocacy Center.  They are an important part of our community and we are proud to support their efforts,” added Haynes.
