Riley Home and School Community Fair; Something for Everyone

OSWEGO – The Charles E. Riley Home and School Community Fair is scheduled for November 18 at the school from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

CER Home and School Association event organizer Laura Ruggio said, “This is an event for both adults and children. Our hope is to make this an annual event that can help raise money to help improve our students’ experience while at school in a manner that can bring out community together.”

Local businesses and community organizations have registered as participants in this first of its kind event and organizers are hoping that during the upcoming weeks many more will register to participate.

The money raised from this event will be used to cover the various expenses that are not covered within the school’s annual budget.

The desire is to allow students to experience activities outside of the school which will broaden their education experience.

Thus far, committing to be at the day-long event are LuLaRoe with Jena Carollo and Katrina Jewell, LuLaRoe with Traci Christ, Paparazzi Accessories with Julie Lavid, The Traveling Antique Man, Amnesty CrossFit, Crafts by Catherine Loomis, Holly’s Hobbies, Visual Creations, Shop.com with Bill Ruggio, Colorstreet with Emily Giglio, Sky Zone Trampoline Park, Angry Mick (Sauces) and Girl School of NYPENN.

GJP Italian Eatery of Oswego has also become involved as a food vendor.

Openings are still available for this event and the cost per table is $30.

Organizers are asking each participant to donate something toward a fundraising raffle.

Ruggio said, “Our hope for this event is to draw as many people from our community as possible, not only our Riley School families, but from throughout the city and surrounding towns. We will have things for the children to do as well as shopping opportunities for the adults. We also will have information regarding how people can become involved in our community.”

The Oswego police and fire departments will also be joining the festivities.

Ruggio said, “The list is growing and there appears to be genuine enthusiasm in this event. If anyone would like to participate please contact Emily Giglio at [email protected] or [email protected].
