State Senator Patty Ritchie met recently with representatives from libraries and library networks in Central and Northern New York.

At the meeting, the group thanked the Senator for her support and discussed State Budget funding for libraries.
Last year, Senator Ritchie, who is a member of the Senate Select Committee on Libraries, was able to deliver $161,000 in special funding to 49 area libraries and 2 library networks in the region she represents.
The funding was in addition to a $4 million increase in state budget aid for libraries across New York State.

I sure hope this goes through. Children need libraries especially for summer vacation coming upon us. I remember I use to take my 2 children on Fridays when they were little and they both picked out a book and movie each to take home and when they were finished with them we brought them back . We couldn’t afford to rent movies and this was awesome because the library had a way better selection for young children. On Tuesdays I believe it was Tuesdays that the library had story hour for toddlers. I always brought my son there. Thank Fulton public library for letting us rent books and movies and also for story hour.
