Those looking to enter the workforce or for a career change are encouraged to attend State Senator Patty Ritchie’s 2016 Oswego County Job Fair, which will feature more than 30 employers, with new businesses being added daily, many of which are looking to hire immediately.
Taking place on May 19 at the Fulton Community Ice Arena, the event will also for the first time feature on-site resume writing assistance, which will help those without a resume craft one on the spot with help from local career experts.
“In recent years, my job fairs have been successful in connecting people with opportunities, right in their backyard, that they didn’t even know existed,” said Senator Ritchie. “I am pleased that once again, so many employers will be on hand to give individuals an opportunity to meet face-to-face and ask questions about local jobs that are available right now. I’m encouraging anyone looking to enter the workforce, or for a career change, to visit my Oswego County Job Fair on May 19.”
The free event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fulton Community Ice Arena, 605 W. Broadway.
Those who are interested in attending can save time by preregistering on Senator Ritchie’s website, www.ritchie.nysenate.gov
Job seekers are also encouraged to bring their resumes with them, or information that can be used to help craft a resume at the event, and “dress for success.”
A list of participating employers can be found on Senator Ritchie’s website, www.ritchie.nysenate.gov
Senator Ritchie’s Oswego County Job Fair is the second she plans to host this year in the region she represents. A St. Lawrence County Job Fair, taking place in Ogdensburg, will be held on May 26.
