FULTON, NY – At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Patrick Waite introduced Geri Geitner of FCSD and Janice Scott from OCO who spoke about the Fulton Community School, which “is not a program; it’s a strategy.”
Funded through a grant, one of 31 awarded statewide, Fulton Community School is housed in Fulton Junior High School.
It will run five days each week in July.
It boasts a partnership with Oswego County Health Department and will provide free physicals for school aged children and youth, teen working papers, and immunizations.
This strategy is designed to reach at risk children and youth.
It will provide three key systems: Support Services for families and the community, Extended Day Program during the school year for grades 5-8 and Family Academy of workshops and activities open to the whole
community.
The Fulton Sunrise Rotary meets every Friday at 7 a.m. at Mimi’s.
