Sandy Creek Central School District sixth graders recently participated in the Oswego County Music Educators’ Association (OCMEA) Elementary All-County Music Festival, held recently at Pulaski Middle/Senior High School.

The students, all sixth graders at Sandy Creek Middle School, performed as band and chorus members and included: Margery Yousey, trumpet; Joseph Mettot, trombone; Carly Lyndaker, clarinet; Alison Lantry, tuba; Dakota Loomis, euphonium; Kennedy Sullivan, trumpet; Alexis Wolfe, clarinet; and chorus members Sydney Jenkins, Alexus Guyette, Ethan Phillips and Angelina Salzman.
The students were selected from the participating schools’ music programs and represent the finest student musicians in the county.
OCMEA sponsors the annual All-County Music Festivals to provide students with the opportunity to play and sing under the direction of outstanding guest conductors.

The festival also provides the students the valuable enrichment opportunity to meet and perform with other talented musicians who share similar interests and talents.
Students perform with All-County Band, All-County Chorus, and All-County Orchestra.
The festival provides an opportunity to recognize and support musical excellence, raises the students’ level of awareness of higher performance standards, and provides an opportunity to work under the tutelage of guest conductors on advance literature alongside their equally talented fellow musicians.
