Sandy Creek Students Participate In Bus Evacuation Drill

SANDY CREEK, NY – Sandy Creek Elementary School students participated in a special bus evacuation drill at the school recently.

The students were given instructions on safe and proper evacuation procedures and then were given an opportunity to practice what they learned using the emergency exit at the rear of their buses.

Older students provided assistance to the younger students as they sat and slid from the exit area.

The practice drills are essential in preparing students in the event that an emergency would require swift evacuation of the school bus.

The drills ensure that both students and drivers are familiar with alternative exits on the bus.
