OSWEGO, NY – Health care providers interested in learning more about Meaningful Use and the rules that pertain to it are encouraged to attend a special seminar entitled “Meaningful Use: Goals, Rules, Process and the Clinical Implications of Organizational Change.” The seminar is hosted by the Rural Health Network of Oswego County’s Technology Committee and sponsored by the New York eHealth Collaborative (NyeC).
Presenting at the seminar will be renowned medical professional, Alan L. Silver, MD, MPH. Dr. Silver, who is board certified in internal medicine and general preventive medicine/public health, is currently a Medical Director at IPRO and an Associate Professor, Departments of Medicine, Epidemiology and Population Health, Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. Dr. Silver received his undergraduate, master’s degree and general preventive medicine residency training at the University of Michigan, and his medical degree and internal medicine residency training at Wayne State University. A fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine, Dr Silver has been at IPRO since 1994 and has been involved with the Health Care Quality Improvement Program since its inception.
“We are pleased to have such an accomplished medical professional as Dr. Silver as the guest speaker at our seminar,” said Coordinator of the RHN of Oswego County, Danielle Wert. “His insight on the newly released Meaningful Use Rules and how physicians can achieve Meaningful Use and make use of government incentives will make this a must attend event for health care providers throughout Oswego County.”
Comprised of information technology representatives from various Oswego County health care providers the RHN Technology Committee meets regularly to plan events and assess health information technology issues and how they impact the county.
Scheduled for Wednesday, the seminar will be held at the Oswego County Public Health Department, 70 Bunner St.
The seminar will be offered in two sessions, one from 7:30-9:30 a.m. and a second presentation from noon – 2 p.m.
Breakfast served at the morning session and lunch served at the afternoon session.
