Skogfeldt Receives Izzo Writing Award

OSWEGO, NY – Once again the Rose Izzo Writing Award was presented to a departing Fitzhugh Park Elementary School sixth grader.

The award, introduced several years ago by the Izzo family is presented to one outstanding writer among the FPS sixth graders.

This year, Kristina Skogfeldt was the recipient as Yolanda Izzo-Breitbeck presented a $200 savings bond and a plaque.

Fitzhugh Park Elementary students who are moving to seventh grade include Alexis Bivens, Hannah Broadwell, Benjamin Chatterton, Steven Courtney, Shawna Hankey, Dylan Holmes, Corrynne-Elizabeth Horning, Anthony Losurdo, Jacob Loveall, Michael Middleton, Joseph Mileski, Kylie Pelkey, William Russ, Robert Schirm II, Kristina Skogfeldt, Ryan Smith, Kyle Spicer and Carrie Yukon in Carol Carroll’s class.

From Ed Fayette’s class were Tatiana Berkley, Colin Clark, Lauriar Collins, James Fetterley, Ian Hammond, Shantal Harrington, Edward Haynes, Shea Hewitt, Christopher Jadus, Melinda Johnson, Maya Mason, Kory McTague, Matthew Rodgers, Megan Shafer, Brittany Webb, and Cheyanne Winslow.

From Thomas Gibbon’s class the students advancing were Hayden Avery, Alissa Gonzalez, Joshua Lazzaro, Nicole LiCourt, Joseph McConnell, Shanell Meyers, Emmett O’Brien, Paul Oleyourryk Jr., Drew Ormsby, Jordan Perchway, Terrance Perez, Danielle Rivera, Shyanna Rivera, Angela Rookey, Jasmine Thomas, Jessie Thomas Jr. and Ashley Webb.
