OSWEGO, NY – Spot the Pedestrian Safety Dog will be on hand during the lunch hour rush in downtown Oswego April 6 – 10 to remind motorists to observe pedestrian safety laws and no right on red signs and walkers to cross properly at the crosswalks.

Chief Tory DeCare and Oswego police officers, as well as Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, Oswego City Firefighters, ARISE and Traffic Safety Board will be helping with the initiative.

Local businesses have donated cups of coffee, pizza, and bagel “positive tickets” to reward citizens caught doing the right thing!

Mayor Tom Gillen presented the official Pedestrian Safety Week Proclamation to Traffic Safety Board Coordinator, Billie Crandall Brady.

Businesses participating are Riversend Bookstore, Oswego Bagelry & Sandwich Shop, The Oswego Tea Company, Franco’s Pizza,  Taste the World, Tim Hortons, Dunkin Donuts, Connection Point and Cidermoon.
