OSWEGO, NY – There will be entertaining activities for all ages at Spring Fest will on May 1 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Oswego Y Armory.
Some of the activities will be Noelle Salmonsen leading a ZUMBA class from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
Tom Rivers will give a presentation at 3 p.m. His first person newspaper columns about working side by side with migrant workers in the fields of Western New York were so popular and award winning that he ended up writing the book ‘Farm Hands’ now in its fifth printing.
You can buy copies of the book at The River’s End Bookstore in Oswego.
Spring Fest is sponsored by the Weston T. Hyde Oswego County Educational Foundation, a non-profit foundation.
Proceeds from the event will be used by the WTHOCEF’s Migrant Emergency & Education Fund to provide emergency assistance for migrant workers and their families and to assist migrant students with educational supplies and scholarship support.
There will be door prizes, basket raffles and a winner of the 46″ LCD HD Toshiba TV Raffle.
There will be art displays, creative activities for children, games, balloon fun, face-painting, professional $1 massages, snacks, and more.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children, (under 5 free) and $25 maximum for families.
Pre-sale tickets get two free basket raffle tickets.
