Students Add Themed Baskets To Auction

OSWEGO, NY – Students at the Oswego Community Christian School are doing their part to support the school’s third annual auction.

Students in each grade have been busy preparing baskets that will be available during the auction.

The baskets will be a welcome addition to the extensive list of items that will be up for bid, as each basket will be filled with an array of goodies that pertain to a unique theme, such as Backyard Fun, The Beach, and A Night on the Town, just to name a few.

Scheduled for May 15, the auction will be held at the Oswego Armory on West First Street from 1 to 5 p.m.

The event serves as fundraiser for the school and will feature a silent auction from 1 to 3 p.m. and a live auction from 3 to 5 p.m.

Some of the many items available during the auction include: an automobile from Burritt Motors in Oswego; a four-pack of Disney World Park-Hopper passes; a gas grill from Lowe’s; a one-night stay, including a $50 gift card towards dinner for two, at Geneva on the Lake; an Oswego Speedway Classic Weekend Package; two event tickets to Creation Festival 2010 in Mount Union, Pa.; a one-night stay at Serendipity Bed & Breakfast in Oswego; plus gift cards from Sun Seekers Tanning, Bracy’s Transmission Service, a number area restaurants, and much more.

Attendees with also have the opportunity to enjoy the Oswego Community Christian School’s famous chicken barbecue, which will be available from 1 p.m. until sold out, and take part in the school’s annual prize drawing.

For a donation of only $10, individuals will have the opportunity to win one of three great prizes including a grand prize of either a seven-night Eastern Caribbean Cruise for two adults or a $1,000 Visa Card, winner’s choice; a second prize of a 40-inch LCD flat screen television; and a third prize of either a $250 gas or grocery card, winner’s choice.

All proceeds from this event will be used for the continued improvement of the quality of education offered to the students at OCCS.
