OSWEGO, NY – Summer school opportunities will be available for Oswego City School District secondary students.

Oswego guidance counselor Rachel Henderson noted there is no charge for summer school.

Math and English will be offered for students who are not successful. These courses will be offered at Oswego Middle School.

Usually the sessions would be at Oswego High School, but construction is being conducted there this summer and the building is unavailable for summer school.

The math and English courses begin July 9 and end Aug. 12.

Classes are Monday through Thursday.

Regent’s exams will be given on Aug. 13 and 14.

Henderson noted, “Students will be placed in one of two sessions.  The first session is from 7:30 – 9 a.m. and the second session is from 9:15 – 10:45 a.m.  Students are responsible for their own transportation to the middle school.  Students will be dropped from the course if they are absent more than two times.”

Any other students needing to repeat a course can do so through the BOCES Summer School at Central Square High School.

Henderson said, “The district will provide transportation to Central Square from designated pickup points.  The bus transportation will depart from OMS at 6:25 a.m. and on County Route 176 at Sacred Heart Church entrance at 6:45 a.m.  Summer School will begin on July 9 and end Aug. 12.  Regents exams will be given on Aug. 13 and 14.”

All summer school registration will take place on July 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in Room B3 at Oswego High School.

Students and a parent must see their counselor to complete the necessary paperwork.

After July 2, late registration for Central Square summer school will take place on July 9 at the Central Square High School. missing or outdated ad config
