OSWEGO — The SUNY Oswego Office of Business and Community Relations will partner this spring with Fair Haven Public Library to host a citizens academy on sustainability.
A citizens academy is an interactive educational program that helps citizens learn what they can do to sustain a healthy, eco-friendly community. Weekly topics will include ecological principles, water and energy efficiency and sustainable food and buying.
Meetings will run 7 to 8:30 p.m. each Wednesday, March 3 to April 14, at the library, 14426 S. Richmond Ave., Fair Haven. There is a $10 fee for the discussion group-style class and materials.
“This is a wonderful partnership between SUNY Oswego and the Fair Haven Public Library,” said Thad Mantaro, assistant director of OCBR. “We’re very happy to join with the library to offer this program to community members in Oswego and Cayuga counties.”
Those who complete the program will receive a certificate of participation and information on how to become engaged with local sustainability activities. Participants should preregister by calling 312-3492 or e-mailing [email protected].
