Earlier this month, the kids of Taft Bay assisted AmeriCorps worker Cassandra Tighe in her community project.

Although the kids could not swim in the lake most of the summer due to blue-green algae, they wanted to give back to the place they call home for the summer.
They planted more than 30 flowers around the Craft Shack (a shack that stores all of the crafts they use for the year) and covered the flowers with mulch.
There was about 15 volunteers total between kids and adults.
The flowers were donated by the Tighe residents and people from around the community.
The mulch was donated from Taft Bay.
