OSWEGO – At a gala Christmas Eve party, Clara’s godfather presents her with an amazing Nutcracker in the form of a wooden soldier.
Too excited to sleep, she suddenly finds the Nutcracker brought to life.

He tells her he is a prince under the wicked enchantment of the Mouse King, and she joins him in a series of adventures in strange lands as he seeks to regain his throne.
When she wakes, she finds the Nutcracker gone.
Was it a dream or not?
Then her godfather returns with his nephew—who just happens to look exactly like the prince!
This charming play will be peppered with ballet dances to the music of Tchaikovsky.
“I thought it would be amazing to bring this holiday comedy classic to life with a local cast of kiddos (and a few adults) and some adorable choreography and costumes this year!” said director Jennifer Snow.
She has been directing the Christmas show for the Oswego Players for a lot of years… 16 to be exact.
“I love being the person that gets to direct the kid’s Christmas show every year because these kids really know how to make the spirit of Christmas come alive in every performance. It is a pleasure having so many talented young actors at my fingertips who are such amazing and hard workers,” she said.
Serving up the “adorable choreography” is local actor/director/choreographer Jessie Dobrzynski. She brings 26 years of dance experience, 5 of them serving community theatre and children’s theatre organizations in the Syracuse area.
The Nutcracker cast includes local favorites – Molly Brown, Zachary Demott, Donald DePriore, Sean Fox, Thi Huynh, Lana Hsu, Leah Norton and Brooklyn Saternow. New to the players this holiday season are Donald Austin, Max Clarke, Zachary Demott, Audrey Donoven, Mariah Gillette, Chloe Helmer, Caitlin Hobbs, Elizabeth Hobbs, Alli Kerr, Liam Kerr, Maggie O’Leary, Annilea Murphy, Ben Nichols, Calisteia Nichols, Caylyn Salmonsen and Nicole Williams.
