The Pageant Of Champions Set Sept. 25

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers have a long string of accomplishments unmatched by any organization in the history of Oswego.

For more than three decades, thousands of students and parents have dedicated countless hours to promote excellence in music and education.

On Sept. 25, the Oswego High School Marching Band will celebrate the 32nd anniversary of “The Pageant of Champions,” New York State Field Band Conference Competition.

This event will take place at the school district’s Joseph R. Wilber Athletic Field located on Buccaneer Boulevard.

The Pride of Oswego, the Marching Buccaneers, will be host to 12 other marching bands from across the state.

Seven of the 10 bands will be competing in the National Division.

The program will commence at 5:30 p.m.

The gates open at 4 p.m.

Tickets are available at the gate and pre-sale tickets are available from any marching band member, Oswego Band Parent Association and by calling the Oswego High School Music Department at 341-2254.

The Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers have demonstrated discipline and unwavering resolve in the pursuit of excellence; they are “The Pride of Oswego!”

More than 257 bands have participated in this event since 1979 – more than 25 thousand student performers and well over 110,000 spectators from all over New York State have enjoyed the hospitality provided by the greater Oswego Community and the Oswego Band Parent Association.
