Timothy Stahl, of 16 Brown Drive, has announced his candidacy for the 20th District of the Oswego County’s Legislature.
This is Stahl’s first time as a candidate and he will be seeking the Republican and Conservative nominations.
A 20-year resident of the town of Oswego, Stahl is currently employed as the Business Development Manager for R.M. Burritt Motors in Oswego.
Previously he worked for seven years at an employee benefits consulting firm.
“As a parent raising three children in this community, I am deeply committed to being a fresh voice in county government,“ Stahl said.
A graduate of Oswego High School (2000) and SUNY Oswego (2004), with a B.S. degree in Applied Mathematical Economics, Stahl has seen firsthand the flood of local graduates leave the county and state for jobs.
“My business experience gives me a very unique perspective on the challenges facing the residents of our county,” Stahl said. “The job opportunities that existed when I was young just don’t exist any more. I want to leave my children a county better than the one I inherited, one with lower taxes, better services, and more opportunities.”
Stahl said he expects to have opponents in the race and welcomes the challenge.
“I’m excited about the competition. I look forward to showcasing the integrity and hard work that have helped to make this community great,” he said.
Stahl resides in Southwest Oswego with his wife, Rachael, and their three children.
