“On behalf of the highway department, I want to thank the American Public Works Association for this recognition,” said Sterio. “While the project truly pushed us out of our comfort zone, I have to give our department a lot of credit for rolling up their sleeves and tackling the job.

“I couldn’t be prouder of our team and the collaboration with Casey Dickinson and BCA Architects and Engineers,” Sterio added. “When problems arose, Casey was right there, making cost-effective design adjustments as needed, to make sure work progressed without excessive delays.”

Sterio also expressed his gratitude to Supervisor Kaulfuss and the town board for funding the project, and their support from beginning to end.

Supervisor Kaulfuss also had high praise for the department, thanking them for a job well done.

“This award is a testament to the highway department and their ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving the roads for the residents of our town,” he said. “They put in many hours on the Rathburn Road Bridge project, and the bridge replacement and cost savings to the town were a reflection of their continued hard work.”
