OSWEGO, NY – The United Way of Greater Oswego County presented Oswego County Government with the Leadership & Commitment Award at the United Way’s Annual Meeting held March 17 at the American Foundry.
The Leadership & Commitment Award is given annually to a company or organization that are leaders in educating their employees on the needs of the community and inspiring them to support their local United Way campaign.
“This organization works daily to serve the needs of our community. Their collaboration on United Way projects such as the Needs Assessment, the Community Directory, and Stuff-a-Bus create the partnership that has contributed to the generosity of their employees. Under the leadership of their campaign coordinator, Kathy Fenlon, the department coordinators increased their campaign this year by 6%, †said Jonathan Daniels, chair of the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Campaign Cabinet.
Fenlon, who served as chair for Oswego County Government’s United Way employee campaign, accepted the award on behalf of her co-workers. She acknowledged the work that the United Way does, and expressed her appreciation of the support the campaign received from the employees.
“Oswego County employees see the needs of people every day as they provide a variety of services to our residents. I am proud that our employees have continued to generously support the United Way, as the United Way works to meet so many needs in our local communities,” she said.
