“The United Way Golf Tournament provides community members with an opportunity to enjoy a fun day of golf while support their United Way,” said United Way Resource Development Director, Lois Luber. “Last year, we had more than 50 teams competing and we anticipate another strong turn out for this year. I encourage those interested to register their team early to ensure a spot in this year’s golf tournament.”

Luber added that a new feature that was debuted at last year’s tournament, the Capture Action Video, will again be included as part of the registration fee.

A popular addition, Capture Action Video will film each golfer’s swing during the tournament and the video will be sent to the registered golfer via e-mail the following week.

“The Capture Action Video adds a little extra fun for our tournament golfers, as their golf swing can be matched against their choice of professional golfers. The video will show both swings simultaneously so they can enjoy comparing their swing to the professional. There is no additional cost to the golfer and the Capture Action Video will be available to all registered golfers,” explained Luber.

Registration includes a continental breakfast, a classic golf shirt, golf cart, 18 holes of golf, lunch, beverages on the course, and a steak dinner buffet following the tournament.

There will be plenty of giveaways and prizes, with each golfer being eligible for, longest drive and closest to the pin prizes.

Interested golfers will also have the opportunity to sign up for the skins contest.

Entry fees are only $100 per person or $400 per team.

Luber added that a number of sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses, or individuals interested in being part of the United Way 2010 Golf Tournament.

In addition to hole sponsorships, which are available for $100, the United Way is soliciting prize sponsors, door prizes, raffle donations, and goody bag items.

“It’s a great way to promote your business and help support many human services programs throughout Oswego County that the United Way serves,” said Luber.  “Thanks to the commitment we have received from our major sponsors; Constellation Energy Nuclear Group, Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station; Entergy; National Grid; Novelis and Burritt Motors I anticipate that the 2010 Golf Tournament will be our best ever!”
