Wilson Farms and Oswego County Opportunities’ Senior Services Division will ask customers to support the thousands of homebound elderly and disabled New York residents through the “Step Up to the Plate” program.
Now in its 5th consecutive year with the local convenience store chain, the fundraising campaign will run through Saturday, Nov. 29 in all Wilson Farms, Sugarcreek and Wilson Farms Xpress locations throughout New York State. Customers can participate by purchasing a Meal on Wheels “plate” for a $1 donation. The purchased “plate,” which will include the name of each donor, will then be displayed in that store. The program has collected more than $124,000 for countless meal recipients touched by Meals on Wheels programs.
Wilson Farms Neighborhood Food Stores, established in 1969, currently operates 192 convenience store and gas station locations across New York State, including its Fulton store located at 201 West Broadway. Over the years, Wilson Farms stores have evolved to fit the changing needs of customers, and today offer quality farm-fresh produce, convenient meal solutions, freshly made sandwiches, gourmet coffee and a wide selection of other beverages, and an intensive line of grocery, frozen, and dairy products.

Administered through Oswego County Opportunities’ Senior Services Division, OCO’s Home Delivered Meal Service provides delivery of nutritious meals to Oswego County residents who are home bound. Program participants receive two nutritionally balanced meals a day up to five days a week. Holiday meals are also available for Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
OCO’s Senior Services Division also administers several Dining and Activity Centers where seniors can enjoy a hot, nutritious noontime meal and visit with friends. These sites are located in Fulton, Pulaski, Oswego, Mexico, Hannibal, Parish, Phoenix and Constantia.
