FULTON, NY – The Fulton Family YMCA introduces ZumbAtomic to area youth in Fulton and the surrounding areas.
ZumbAtomic is a modified Zumba program specifically for children 4-13 years of age.
ZumbAtomic will help with coordination, balance, socialization, and most importantly they will learn to love exercise.
During spring break April 19 – 23, the Fulton Family YMCA will offer a trial ZumbAtomic class for youth pre-K – eighth grades.
The times and age groups are as follows:
Group l for Pre-K through second grade – 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. and Group II for third through eighth grade – 11 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday through Friday.
If this timeframe isn’t good, then we are offering a 5:10 to 5:40 p.m. class on Monday and Wednesday only for all ages.
The cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members and if the child is signed up for SACC (School aged childcare) the cost for them to attend would be $5.
The fee includes the cost of a T-shirt.
After the first class all participants will stay to make a tie-dyed T-shirt showing they participated in the Fulton Family YMCA’s ZumbAtomic class!
Doreen Forbes, the Zumba instructor, who was born and raised in Fulton, started dance lessons when she was 4 at Broderick-Ezzo dance studio.
She has since taught dance lessons in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Pointe for 18 years with the past few years being at the Fulton Family YMCA.
Doreen took an interest in Zumba because of the international dance rhythms and music.
Since March of 2009 she has been licensed to teach three different Zumba classes: Zumba Gold, Zumba Basic and now ZumbAtomic.
The Fulton Family YMCA is planning on offering ZumbAtomic for youth and families as a program soon.
The families’ class will be geared for parents and children who can take the class together to exercise and have fun!
