WILLIAMSTOWN – The Dave Melton Family Singers of Franklin, Indiana, will visit the Williamstown Church of Christ in Williamstown on July 20 for a 7 p.m. concert.
The group sings a mix of hymns, Southern and contemporary gospel, and original songs.
Dave Melton grew up as a member of The Melton Family Singers of Joplin, Missouri.
After five years as senior minister of Ravenwood Christian Church in Ravenwood, Missouri, he felt the call for his young family to begin traveling as the best way to share the Gospel message.
Melton, an ordained minister of the Gospel, sings tenor lead; his wife and songwriter, Krista, sings alto; sons, Trevin and Kyle sing in the tenor range; daughter, Kadence sings soprano; and identical twins Macy and Gracie just sing.
The group has traveled across the U.S. and well over one million miles for concerts, revivals, retreats, and family and gospel camp events.
Krista, a native of Little Sioux, Iowa, had her own music ministry before she met and married Dave. She homeschools the children as they travel, and has written many of the songs they sing.
Some of her crowd-pleasers are God is Good to Me, Well Done, and America’s Still Beautiful to Me.
