The tradition of fun and learning kicked off with MaxMan Reptile Rescue representatives teaching students about safe animal handling and the importance of not disturbing creatures in their natural environment.
Students were able to pet a snake and a lizard as they exited the cafeteria on their way to more than one dozen workshops and presentations.
Throughout the event, students learned about the following topics: alternative energy, anti-littering campaigns, canoe building, bass fishing, dog agility, dog obedience, drawing form nature, electrical safety, exploring nature, fly fishing, hawks and owls, parrots, rocks and minerals and summer safety.
Students were encouraged by guests to celebrate the Earth each day by making safe and responsible choices.
