Church, Players To Offer Comedy Fundraiser

OSWEGO, NY – The Church of the Resurrection and the Oswego Players will again co-produce a fundraiser for both organizations in late October.

Well-known Oswego Players director and president Inez Manor Parker has chosen the uproarious “Play On” by Rick Abbott as this season’s offering.

Its first incarnation on the Players’ stage in 1994 nearly had the audience “rolling in the aisles” with laughter at every performance.

The show will be presented in the usual dinner theatre format at the Church, 120 W. Fifth St., on Oct. 22 and 23.

As usual, a delicious dinner will be served by the ladies of the church, featuring their popular homemade desserts.

Many familiar faces will dominate the stage in this “play within a play” as the action moves from on-stage to backstage and back again in this fast-moving romp.

The ensemble includes Nelson Metz, Sherri Baker, Jennifer Snow, Kyle Walton, Ed Lewis, Jennifer Belt-Patterson, Carol Dufrane, Mark Mirabito, Molly Brown and Amanda Mosher.

Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., with curtain at 7:30 p.m.

Cost of the dinner and show is $25.

Show only ticket is $10.
