FULTON – Young artists from The Art Scene at CNY Arts Center, youth program has the exciting opportunity to showcase their work at the Fulton Municipal Buildings Community Center. The event, which featured a meet-and-greet with Mayor Jim Rice and Councilor Ryan Taylor, allows the talented youth to share their creations with the community.
The showcase provides a platform for the young artists to display their diverse range of artistic expressions. From vibrant paintings and unique mixed media pieces, the exhibit showcased the creativity and skill of the participants.is currently on display at the Municipal Building in downtown Fulton.
Mayor Rice and Councilor Taylor were thrilled to be part of the event, expressing their admiration for the young artists’ talent and dedication. They emphasized the importance of supporting the arts in the community and encouraged the youth to continue pursuing their artistic passions.
The CNY Arts Center summer art camp program offered a variety of art classes and workshops for young people in the Fulton and surrounding areas. The program aims to foster creativity, build confidence, and provide a supportive environment for artistic expression.
The art showcase is celebrating the talent and hard work of the young artists involved. It is a testament to the positive impact that the Fulton youth programs at CNY Arts Center has on the community.
Interim Executive Director Bonnie McClellan, who is also the youth program director and one of the teachers for youth and adult classes commented “It was tough to convince the children to give up their art work that they created during the 4 weeks of summer camp to display, I don’t think they wanted to give it up, or maybe they didn’t think they would get it back. But there were so many amazing art projects that the children created. I love seeing all the growth and pride they take in their work.”
The Art Scene is located downtown Fulton and is an asset to the community with its many programs and events it has to offer. This weekend is the final showing of a time period play Sense & Sensibility with only 3 shows left. Next week, youth can participate in a “tween” sewing class, rehearsals have started for the upcoming Christmas play, and classes for adults. October is filled with events.
