Only Connect: Poetry And Prose With Linda Loomis And Laura Donnelly At The Oswego Public Library

OSWEGO – On Saturday, April 5th, at 2:00 PM, local writers Linda Loomis and Laura Donnelly will read from their works, discuss their writing processes, and engage with the community at the Oswego Public Library. They will conduct a workshop titled “Only Connect: Poetry and Prose of Memory, Family, and Place.”
Linda Loomis has taught journalism and creative writing at SUNY Oswego, where she served as a tenured professor and director of the journalism program. Before her teaching career, she worked as an editor and reporter for the Brown Newspapers (The Liverpool Review) and was the editor of the OSWEGO Alumni Magazine. Currently, her byline appears in music and arts articles at syracuse.com/poststandard.
Laura Donnelly teaches poetry and chairs the English and Creative Writing Department at SUNY Oswego. She is the author of two poetry collections, Midwest Gothic and Watershed, available at the library. She regularly reviews books for the environmental literary magazine Terrain and recently co-produced a documentary on the Sterling Nature Center.
Following this event, local writer Marilyn Higgins will share her novels on May 10th as part of the visiting author series.
